Security - storing inside a building or other structure

You might be permitted to bring your bike inside your employer's building or work area, especially if it's a folding bike. Another benefit of a folding bike: you can store it in your home at night.

Whenever you store your bike in a shed or garage, you probably rely on the structure's doors for security. But those doors often have flimsy construction and lack good locks. The lower corners of some large wood garage doors can be pried open (because the wood bends) just enough for a skinny person to slip inside.

Instead of upgrading the structure, you could lock the bike to something immoveable inside. If there's nothing inside to lock to, you could install an in-ground or aboveground anchor point, and chain the bike to that. However, that would require some concrete work.
